As the year comes to a close we only have about a week of wet clay left and we are completely out of my favorite type of clay, SeaMix. In other news, I found some Vashon Orange that I seem to like. It has a very classic look to it and throws nicely. I have also picked back up using the Grog clay. I enjoy the grog because I can throw extremely thin and it still has a strong structure.
This week I bring you a throwback picture. I found this project while unpacking boxes from my move. This is my first ceramics work from when I was young. I believe this is a hand project from the first grade that I made for my mom.
This week I made the largest project I've made yet. I think with this I am going to combine my large project theme with my Raku and we will see what will happen. Updates to come for this one!
I carefully crafted this project for a special someone. In this picture I have it upside down as I carefully hand paint on the designs. I also use this picture to show off the foot ring.

Using Iron Oxide and Cobalt Oxide, I have made two glazes I plan to use in the future
